Have you ever thought about who will be there when as you get older?
Have you ever thought about who
will be there for you as you get older?
Who we are . . .
Grow old along with me
the best is yet to be.
- Robert Browning
The east end of Long Island's dual forks including Shelter Island has become home to a growing number of men and women age 50+. Out East Neighborhood Network (OENN) is a membership organization designed for those who want to meet new friends, engage in outstanding educational lectures and workshops, volunteer in neighbor-to-neighbor programs, get together for foodie outings and wine tastings, frequent New York's finest theater productions, museums, and innovative restaurants, as well as new travel adventures - locally, regionally, and abroad. Our members also enjoy getting together for games, exercise regiments, yoga, Tai Chi, writing, bowling, tennis, book groups, fishing, reading programs for children in local schools and libraries, and much more.
Our MISSION is to assist people to actively age-in-place in their own home free of the fear of eventually being placed in a congregate care facility, i.e., assisted living or nursing home, as they become less active with advanced age or chronic illness.
Ultimately the goal of our organization is to support people with a wide array of community and volunteer-based services to age-in-place, in their own homes and in the community they value and love surrounded by family and friends, their cherished belongings, as well as the comfort of their beloved pets.
We look forward to meeting you and having you become an active, valued member.
